Default Help choose sub for Hatch W7 or W6v2......

Hey all...
im going to put a sub in my car... OH NO!....

And i cant decide, i like form and function and love SQ but still enjoy bumping (im hard to please)

I think im most likely going with 1 sub, either 1 10w6v2 or the 8 inch w7. Most likely sealed for better sound. Maybe ported since they are good Quality subs.... Help

8inchw7*Sealed

8 inch ported

Do you think since its bigger, even though its cheaper, will a 10w6v2 be better than a 8w7? Heres the 10 first sealed, than ported.....

.....
Its been really hard for me to find any help on this so its all greatly appreciated.... and if you can take 2 secs to look at the post please take 2 more and give me your 2 cents
Thanks

im looking at the same thing but at one 12w7 or 12w6. I don't know if that 8 is going to hit that hard, but from what i know. My friends brother has a 10w7 in his hummer hooked up to a JL 500/1 and it hits really hard. My friends neighbor has a JL 12w6v2 and i have heard it and its nice as hell. I think the 10W6v2 should be good. It hits really hard.

The only way that I'd let an 8" woofer stay in my car is if mounted somewhere upfront (center console/doors). If you're going to be using the trunk/hatch, you might as well go big. There really isn't much difference between the recommended box sizes either.

The question then should be how much do you want to spend on an amplifier. The 12w7 for sound quality ONLY requires 250 watts/RMS, but I would recommend at least 500 watts/RMS. The W6 does not have as far a suspension travel as the W7. So, with the above mentioned 500 watts/RMS, you'll have more bass w/ the W7, but it has a larger box(sealed) than the W6. W7 w/ 500 if you want to slam, 250-500 and the W6 for sound quality.

I can't imagine there being much of a difference in SPL between the two. I'm going to assume that the W7 outdisplaces the W6, but there can't be that much of a difference. IMO SQ shouldn't even be a consideration when comparing subs of this caliber

8 inch? Hell no... That thing is tiny. Go for the 10.

contrary to popular belief, the W7 is not king. There are several other woofers in the same league that are half the price. They just don't have the JL name backing them. Check out XBL^2 technology. There are only a handfull of drivers currently using this technology, but that will change shortly. Adire'sBrahma, and Resonant Engineering's XXX are two of the most popular drivers using XBL.
