Default is there any trick ways to pass the sniffer test?

i have the jdm 4-1 header, and i dont think i'm gonna pass smog with that. is there anything i can add to my gas to "ease up" my emissions. i heard running a lil bit of methanol will really do the trick for a quik run @ the smog station. help...

Drive the **** out of the car on the way to do the test, get the cat good and hot. Don't let it sit a long time before they test it. Retard the timing a few degrees, that will also help to drop the emissions a little.

if you have a high flow cat.. there is an air injection port... if you go to a cool shop.. mom n' pop type of smogging place..

they'll inject air into the cat to lighten the fumes if you ask them to.

Good luck..

and do what b19 said.. the hotter your cat the better it works.

Ha! Hello Corona, California...

I have to pass smog this year, too... I passed the sniffer two years ago without even messing with it.

This year, I'm just giving the R a full-blown tune up and I expect to pass the test (when the car is warm) without much drama. I'm more worried about the "visual" inspection: Mugen 4-1, Mugen Exhaust, AEM CAI, Adj. Cam Gears...

And I know it runs hella rich (stock fuel map), so if it passed without a tune-up last time, I'm quite sure it'll pass the sniffer if it's all happy and tuned up.
