Default help me out, want to bore out B18C1

this might not be the forum to post but more ppl speak out here,

ok, i bought a B18C1 with a resleeved Golden Eagle sleeves, the block spun a rod bearing.
i want to bore it out to a minimum of 84 mm or 84.5mm, or a max of 85mm or 85.5mm, whatever best setup you guys think? give me your opinions.
i researched and found it can get a minimum of 1932cc from 84mm bore and a max of 2002cc from 85.5mm bore.
now by boring the cylinder out will it change the rod/stoke ratio?
ok, now what else need to be done so i can get a closest of a 2.0L?

Hope you dont mind me adding to your post, its on same topic. Im also doin a b18c1 buildup and bought ross pistons over bore .5 My uncle came over today and he builds domestic race cars and told me I dont know what im goin that I should bore my engine a lot bigger with bigger pistons. This is for a t3/t4oe 57 trim, .63a/r exhaust housing, with a stage 3 blade setup and I already bought stock lenght eagle rods. Should I just go with what I originally planned or go with bigger pistons and how big??Will it work with my rods, im also plan to use darton sleeves

do what we did on the ITR build up I did for my room mate.

Darton solid deck 83mm sleeves, bored to 84.5. Now we have 1997 cc displacement in the B20C5

It will not effect your rod stroke ratio either by going oversized

bulletproof bottom end

Did you rebuild that engine in your living room?

yeah. I built it in my living room...best place to do it

Room temp, get more accurate clearances.

Oh, and I could "spend time with the girlfriend" at the same time...cause she hates the garage...lol.

Will the oversized pistons be much better for the turbo, which im sure it would be?

bigger displacement= more torque, less turbo lag, and quicker spool.

this is a D16Z6, correct??? I would just resleeve and go .5 over. That is the most you can safely go without going with a solid deck sleeve kit

With the built bottom end, and upping the boost will deffinately be nice.

how big a bore can you go before you have head gasket sealing problems? which head gasket do you use for a 84mm b18c1.

How much would a darton sleeve cost me in total?

i would go 84mm. that's what i'm doing on my b18c1. i've talked to many builders and they all agree that's the way to go. i'm using wiseco pistons, but if you're intrested i got some JE 84mm pistons low comp. pistons i can sell you for cheap. just email me.

depends. Just sleeve inserts, my brothers shop charges 600 installed with prep work and bore/hone to desired size.

The picture above, which is the solid deck kit, was 1200 installed with prep work and bored/honed to size

If you question the difference between 1.8 and 2.0 liters....check this.

The Type R pulls harder now with 8 psi boost and 9.8:1 compression with the 84.5 mm bore, than it did with the stock bottom end and 10.8:1 compression.

The difference is rediculous, I can't wait to drive this thing at 18 psi on the love fab manifold and SC61 turbo

Last year, I had Golden EAgle sleeve and hone my B18 for $900, I beleive, plus $150 for S&H.
I now have a B16 I want to work on. Do you recommend GE or Darton. I plan to go NA.
