Did a search but nothing, can anyone walk me through replacing my driver's axle?
i need to replace my axle tomarow, i know how to sorta do it. but i want to be 100% sure that i am doing it correct.
of course you take off the rims, take off the caliper rotor, then take off the giant bolt with the pin. after that? i know not to take off the pin from the boost. thanx in advance.

You don't need to take of your caliper or rotor. What do you mean by pin in boost?

I think I explained it pretty well there
. All you'd have to do from there is pull out the axle instead of replacing the boot. Then dip the ends in grease and put it back in.

A gear puller may be in order to get the axles out of the hubs and back into the tranny. To use it though, anchor it to the hub (this will require removing the brake). Be sure the crown bolt (the one where you have to remove the pin) is taken off and the ball joint is separated and out. Doses of rust eater and pb blaster may be needed as well. If it is rusted, bu sure to screape out the grooves witha screw driver prior to reinstallation.
When replacing the axle, the new one may not go all the way into the tranny. Put it in as far as it will go, and then put it through the hub. Reattach the balljoint and replace the crownbolt. Use the gear puller (again anchored to the hub) to push on the axle. This will pop it back into the tranny.
Hope this helps

Just replaced both axles on my integra. As mentioned you don't have to take off the rotor and caliper, just seperate the lower ball joint from the lower control arm with a pry bar (don't rip the ball joint boot) and swing the hub away. To separate the axle from the intermediate shaft use 2 prybars/screwdrivers, one on each side so that it pops straight out.
To get everything back together just push hard... if that doesn't work, push harder.

thats what a lot of people told me, but on both my friend and my cars the axles were rust-seized to the hubs and the axles took more than a whack with a sledge to get them in. Hopefully they'll be that easy for you, but just be prepared to fight the axles in and out.
