help me decide!! b20/d16turbo/???
as the topic states, im in a dilly of a pickle....i finally saved up a decent amount of money i was thinking a greddy turbo kit for my d16y8 but i dont know how reliable it may be...b20 swap sounds good too any idea on the prices on these? thinkin of b20 w/ si trans....vtec head later?
well yeah i cant decide i do tonss of daily driving each day about 80mile round trip traveling to school reliablity is a must....also i want soem power with out it having to turn into a hugeee money pit.....any comments are appreciated thanks...

I don't know about reliability of the kit I've haven't heard too many complaints here (search).
but as long as your tuned well and the turbo is oil (and preferably water) cooled and you let it run before shutting it off... and change the oil regularly it should be plenty reliable...

well from what i read from previous threads is that turbo requires a lot of maintenance and cuts down your engines life span.however i happen to have a jdm b20b with a gsr tranny,havent installed it yet though.from previous reasearch of b20s i have found out that they are very torquey and reliable.not to mention down the future you can have crvtec and it will be quick as hell and still reliable.if you have patience i would say get the b20.but whatever floats your boat.peace!
Ya right I'd trust a turbo setup over crvtec/lsvtec anyday. If you take care of your engine properly it won't cut the life span down by much. There are kids on the board that have been boosting for 2 years plus and still pulling hard. Depends on if you know what you're doing.
