Default What the hell is this nintendo cartridge slot doing in my car?

So here I am trying to hack my iPod in to connecting to my car... and I notice this:

These look like aftermarket welds holding them on... what the hell is this for? My camera doesn't have a macro mode, so the close up shots are kind of blurry, sorry about that :\

That's your OBDII diagnostic port.

Ahhh... alright, the welds made me think it was some kind of aftermarket thing, for a second I thought I had plugs for Hondata or something

You can buy an adapter and a program to datalog via a palm pilot, or laptop if you're so inclined...

Right.

Which reminds me. When I had the Pig inspected this month, they just plugged it up and checked for codes. No sniffer like in the past. Hype R got sniffed in '01.

Is the plug test that recent? How will a modded car react to the plug test?

No worries, Pat. As long as you don't throw a CEL, the "plug-in" test won't complain. It looks for problems in your engine management/control.

It will be a while, before the "plug-in" test can read all the records from the ECU (OBD-3??). (But, it won't matter much to OBD-I & OBD-II since they don't record much info AFAIK.)

Yeah, that's what I thought, too

The Pig had popped a CEL, but all tests (temp good, power good, no limp mode) proved fine, so I reset it. Waited a couple hundred miles, CEL stayed off. So I took it to get tested. Failed - O2 not ready, O2 heater not ready, couple of other not readys

Asked the dealer while I was there buying parts, and they said to drive the **** out of it, then take it. Followed instructions, and it passed.

This plug **** sucks - I'm going to either start leaving my cars alone, or just buy pre-'96

Robby - your car registered in Forsyth or what? Only a handful of NC counties do emissions.

Hondatec38- (cringes as he restrains himself from making fun)
LOOK AT SIG

Let me know if you get the I Pod to work. I have a Rio and was wondering if a hack was possible.

By the way. The plug test is new in PA and will go into effect in September. Yes, it does suck (no more OBD-II - OBD-I conversions). But, the tester does not read VIN numbers Hint Hint....Wink Wink....!

LOL, so did I. One time, there was a Fossil watch and a pencil found in my car.

I think my car was once a drug car.
