Synthetic should be fine by now. Maybe wait one more oil change if you're worried.

My bike has had synthetic oil in it since it had 600 miles on it. It now has over 25K mile and still has the original clutch in it.

I'd swap in synthetic in the first swap after my 600 mile change, but doing it at the 600 isn't bad either.

Realistically, run Dino for break in, then switch to whatever you want. There would be no point in switching at 20k.

so my r6 having 7500 miles would be okay to dump synthetic oil in right.

No, wait for 7501. Then you're ok. But not a tenth of a mile sooner!!

So the general consensus is the factory oil is not necessary? In particular, I am asking about oil for a 01 Suzuki Katana 600. The oil was changed for the 3rd time at around 4k miles with Pennzoil 10w40 Dino. For the next change is it worth the extra $$ for the Suzuki oil or ???

20k is insane. Contrary to popular belief, new bike motors are broken in at the factory, drained, then filled with 1 quart and installed in the bike and shipped. Your dealer tops it off then puts it on the floor. I changed my oil with dino oil at 300 then full syn at 600.

its a canotuna... i doubt it matters either way I've never heard of the "break in" from the factory. They do have their own quality tests though. I can't remember what make or application but I did tear down a crate bike and the engine was relatively dry w/ assembly lube in the usual places. There was engine oil on the rings, pins, crank and the case in general so maybe with the tranny that's 1qt? It didn't look like the engine had been turned at all though. Tell me more about this factory break in
