Re: OIL CHANGE (meanTheDope)
At 600 miles, you need to consult your owners manual for the proper oil to put in it.
I would NOT, repeat NOT put synthetic in yet. General thoughts are to wait until around 2k miles before going synthetic.

you can as long as it's synthetic motorcycle oil. Motorcycle oil and motor oil are 2 different things. Each is made up of their own chemical properties.

Re: OIL CHANGE (Kista20)
Motorcycle oil is different in that it can withstand double your car's rpm without breaking down.
Nothing wrong with going to synthetic after 600 miles. A lot of manufacturers suggest it. I have had zero problems using full synth since I completed break-in.

What oil filter wrench are you using? There's one for sale at Griot's Garage which works REALLY well. I'm sure there's a cheaper, similar version out there somewhere.
As for motor oil, I believe the general consensus is anything is fine, as long as it's not energy conserving.

Re: (marmaladeboy)
ok got everything done...everything you need to do an oil change is in the tool kit...but the 17mm wrench sucks...so use a rachet with a breaker bar to get the oil drain bolt...and a oil filter wrench to losen the oil filter...now that i did the oil change the bike runs/feels better...thanks for all the help guys.

Breaker bar? Oil filter wrench?
Good grief. My drain bolt is only TQ'd to 14 ft/lbs and the oil filter, once the gasket touches the mounting surface give it 3/4 (270 degrees) of a turn. No leaks and no wrench required.
Edit: 40, 14 sounds the same in your head when you are typing fast.

I think mine is like 14 lbs or something. Hope that's a typo or I see some stripped threads in your future
