Default Anyone heard of a JDM ITR 4-2-1 header?

Hi guys
I may be looking at purchasing a JDM ITR 4-2-1 header....the problem is I have never heard of this kind of header. Does anyone have or know about this header or where I could go to learn more about it?
thanks

Try the ITR board I think there are a few of them that have the header.

But yeah, that's a very popular header around H-T.

Maybe it's a smaller world than I thought.

It's also, if I'm not mistake, a heavy cast manifold that somewhat resembles the OEM USDM pieces, unlike the JDM 4-1 which is constructed as an actual header. IMO, there are many better options available than a 96-spec. ITR manifold.

they are from a 96-97 spec jdm R, and they are a 2 peice cast design very similar to the u.s. spec R ex mani except for the 2.5 coll., id say save ur money for the 98 spec ex mani, cause theres a good reason way honda upgraded to the 1 peice tubular 4-1 mani right?

It's also the CTR exhaust manifold. I had one but never put it on cause it was still as heavy as the stock manifold.

nice header, even makes more power than OEM JDM ITR 4-1 BUT hangs very low.

dont waste your money on the JDM 4-2-1. buy a 98+ spec 4-1. i'd get that over a DC JDM 4-1 too.. they make the same power (basically) and are both about the same price. ive seen pictures of the DC JDM 4-1, and it sits so incredibly low. i have the OEM 4-1 with the skidplate, and it sits about as low as stock. when you look under the front of the car, you cant even see the bottom of the header or the skidplate.. whereas you clearly see it on the DC JDM 4-1. i'd be afraid of scraping if i had the DC. also, i know where to get a good deal on the OEM 4-1 (and skidplate) if anyone is interested.

stock JDM 4-1 is a great bang-for-the-buck header.

the Toda is basically the best pre-made header you can buy.

I'd use the JDM 96-97 Spec 4-2-1 manifold if it was free or really cheap, and in good condition. It's better than the stock manifold, but not by much.

Hate to bring this subject up again guys...but my thinking in getting these headers is that they will increase my air flow over my stock headers and for 1-3hp tops I don't really think its worth it to spend $300-$800 on a header....since I plan for now to be done modding the car after I get a header. (already have a catback and CAI)

I think someone mentioned that the header is comprable to a USDM ITR header
So does anyone think I may see gains from a 96 spec Type R header ?
Does anyone have a USDM ITR header on their car and saw any gains?

I don't really think JDM stuff or type R parts are superior....but sometimes they are a little cheaper!
thanks
