Default Interior fans occasionally fail - 90 Si

Sometimes when I turn on my car the interior fans won't work. Everything else is fine, like the A/C, radio, etc, just the fans stop. Eventually they turn back on, but I can't figure out what is causing this. It doesn't happen too often, maybe 1 out of 20 times. Anyone experienced this before?

Yes the brushes are worn out and make intramitten contact one day soon it will not run at all. One time it is not turning tap the blower motor under the glove box if when you tap it it starts running that is it for sure.

Replace your blower motor resistor. I was having the same problem with my car where it wouldnt work on all speeds and sometimes it wouldnt work at all. I replaced it and everything works fine.
The blower motor resistor is located behind your glove box on top of your blower motor housing. Its black and only about an 1" by like 1.5" and it goes inside the blower housing its held in by 2 philips screws and there is also a wire connector on the top. They are about $30 from the Honda dealer.

Well the resistor that I am talking about is either working or needs to be replaced there realy isnt any "checking" it. Does your fan work on all speeds when it is working? Or does it not work on like "1" or "2" or something like that?

I meant I would tap it to see if that helped.

So far either all the speeds work or none, not just some of them.

Same thing as I posted above the blower motor resistor thats what controls the fan speed.

Would the motor also be the cause of a clicking sound who's speed is directly proportional to the speed setting of the fan? It's a really annoying noise.

Yes it would it could be the brushes about to go or the fan basket is rubbing the housing. Or even less likely a piece of debris has made its way to the fan and it periodically jams the fan.

Thanks, I'll have to go get a replacement for that motor. Hopefully it fixes both problems.
