My stock Cat is just about done..... - 167,000 miles 93 Civic SI Hatch - I/H/E - Swap is in the plans for the future. - Waht are your experiences, pros, cons.

And,... Do Integra OEM Cats flow better than Civic - Who knows?

When I got my carsound put in (at the time, stock manifold and 2-1/2" catback exhaust) I noticed a difference in the low revs, and much throttle response. I also paid around 280 CDN for the whole thing installed, so it wasn't a bad upgrade. And as far as I know, it'll pass emissions. A buddy who's got the same setup (on an sohc vtec) passed emissions no prob.

My Random tech cat gave me 8hp ..So I think it's worth it..No doubt the B16 likes low back pressure and the stock cat was a limiting factor..Have dyno plots if you like to see..

yeah, i'd like to see 'em.. what are you other mods? as far as i know hi-flo cats are best suited for forced induction, and not really a big deal on NA cars.

Here's a plot with complete exhaust except the high flow cat...This was the stock cat:

I was really frustrated at this as I only gained 2.5 hp over stock (car was dynoead at 159 hp bone stock)...I tried another cat just for testing to see if the cat was defective, but same result..Then I got my Random Tech high flow cat and went to the dyno again:

up to 168.4 hp..Better..Also put on a Skunk2 catback, but that didn't affect the peak hp (unfortunately..But doesn't matter as the Skunk2 is meant as a preparation for my next project with the car)

Uh, no. Don't do that. It's against the law and is shitty for the environment.

take off your cat, get a hammer and a long screwdriver or bar and stick the screwdriver in the hole and till you can see though it. free high flow cat on the house then pay the inspector a lil extra and get you that awesome JDM inspection sticker with all the money you saved.

but seriously though, I have a test pipe, no passing inspection, just put on the old cat when you go for inspection, once a year isnt really a pain in the ***.

I've got a 93 ex with exhaust and a header put on the day or 2 before the cat...

It's a catco direct fit it was under 150 from summit delivered... there was definately a little more throttle response and less backpressure after the cat... overall I like it a lot and would recomend it... Also it seemed to quite the exhaust note a little which I though was odd.. figured it'd be louder but no...
