What oil should I use on a D16Z6 in summer??
Hi, I just got a civic HB Si with a D16Z6 and I want to change the oil, My country is very hot and humid (Tropical) its temp are just like say MIAMi in the summer (Not sure how much in Degrees), i have been told Hondas use 5w30 full syntetic oil but I thinks its too thin (and expensive!!) what oil should I use, 20w50? Is mineral or semi syntetic oil bad for the engine and cause engine wear? The engine has 110k miles and the rings have been changed once (not sure at what mark). Thanks.
PD: what oil filter, spark plugs, plug wires and ditributor cap and rotor should I use, OEM? (Im thinking of going FI but not now)

I did a search and came up with 5w30 but My guess is its too thin. Anyone live in florida or somewhere hot? What oil do you use in summer? THANKS AGAIN
5W-30 isn't too thin. And Honda recommends it. (Now 5-20!)
But it has alot of viscosity modifiers.
I say use 10w-30 Pennzoil and be done with it.
Change it every 3K like a religion.
Don't use a Fram filter either.
Purolator if you're cheap.
K&N if you're money.

If you are going to shell out the bucks for a synthetic, at least use a real synthetic.
Seriously.
Mobil 1 is the cheapest real synthetic this side of Redline, or Amsoil.
Then you can extend your drain intervals up to about 5K.

dont take this offensive but you ever heard of a owners manual or a auto shop (napa, advanced auto, auto zone????) they can supply you with all that information and sell you it....just saving you some time because then ya dont gotta wait for answer
