Default Anyone have the same prob?

Sup guys,
Well i had this prob for a while. Just wondering of anyone else experienced the same thing and if they corrected it. Well after i had my intake installed and my catback piping installed, it seems that my motor runs a bit weird at a parking position. When i have it at park and stand behind the muffler in the rear of the car, the exhuast air/emissions seems to NOT come out smoothly. Is this common to any of you guys? The air from the exhuast seems to "pop". By that i mean there are like little tiny gaps between the air, it doesn't exit the car smoothly like my other friends cars. Any suggestions to how to fix this problem? Idle issue maybe? My friend suggested a fuel regulator. What do you guys think? Thanx

Sounds like you have a misfire. Often times that can be fixed with just a simple tune up, and also making sure each and every vacuum line is attached securily where it's supposed to go.

When my car was misfiring slightly at idle, it was the distributor itself (the centrifugal advance springs had broken inside), and the vacuum advance diaphram was leaking, causing a vacuum leak (obviously, lol). Junkyard distributor + brand new vacuum advance = problem solved completely.

Start with the simple things though, like vacuum hoses, and maybe make sure the timing is set correctly. Were there any vacuum hose adjustments with the intake?

Yea i think i should go check the vacume lines again. Well there was one vacume line attached to the intake. i had to replace it with a longer one because the aem piping has the connection for the vacume line a bit lower. Any specific vacume lines i should check? I remember checking before and eveything looked snug. But sometimes i do feel like it could be a vacume line because my idle jumps once in a while at weird times. goes up to 1500 and back down to 750.

if you got custom piping it might just be the crushed bends causing irregularities in the exhaust flow.
