Okay here we go...
It all depends on how much money your friend wants to spend. If you ask this type of "open" question you'll get 30 different answers. Everyone has a different opinion of what type of engine is best for this and that...
Pretty much any d-b and even the h series motors will fit that chassis. It all depends on how much you wanna spend.
Do a search for CRX motor swaps and you'll get a lot of info.
Good luck...

Hey, I grew up in roswell. First of all to see info on engine swaps use the search feature on this site. Now after you have gathered some info as to what engine you want contact me, because I have a freind who can get good engines. He has also performed at least 10 swaps, if you dont feel that you are capable.

Swift....I might be interested in his services as well(for engine purchases only) depending on price and what not. I am currently looking for a CRX/Civic hatchback to turn into a project car, know of any ones around with blown engines and good bodies?

looking for the 89crx. pics would be awesome.
I think he wants to spend about 6000 for an engine setup. would it be good to keep the suspsension stock and change rotors, calipers or change it out to itr suspension?

if he wants to spend that kind of money he could get a b18c1, tein suspension, and some upgraded rotors and calipars with a larger master cylinder. As far as doing the itr swap, it can be done. The guy I keep mentioning who is good with swaps did the 4 lug itr swap in his crx.
