ok i just got back from the shop and the 96 gsr only needs a major tune up and fix a leak in the (master brake cylinder)? so now deciding on the price which started at 7900 went to 6900 then 6500 then $6000. what do you guys think a good deal or not? i would really like to know what you guys think

problems:

rebuilt title
chip paint on hood
3 or 4 dings on car
bumper needs alignment (not hard to do)
needs tune up, arm rest leather pad, stering colum plastic
sun roof won't open (motor works don't know what's wrong?)

I think you can find one without a rebuilt title, and in proper working order for a little bit more money. Mods arent always a good thing, just means its been modified and possible ragged a little more. The longer the mods have been done the worse off you are. Look at autotrader.com and see what some other non totalled gsr's are going for and take about $2k off.

 

Yep, I agree. I would always prefer a stock car unless the mods are cosmetic, like Recaros, sophisticated security and audio and maybe, rims/tires.

 

I wouldn't touch it personally.

 

well it hasn't been totalled like you think just the interior was ripped off. so another good thing would be new leather.

 

the thing with the moonroof is i don't know how to dismatle it. but ill figure it out with a liitle searhing and a new bottle of wd40

Rebuilt simply means that it was totalled by the insurance company and had a salvaged title and then "rebuilt"(ie, fixed). Salvaged, is where a junkyard buys it for parts or to be fixed.
