Default Which throttle body size would you recommend?

My compression is at 12.6:1 would like to know which throttle body i should use.. i was thinking of boring out the opening to my skunk2 intake manifold to match the new throttle body.. just not sure which size to go with.. I was thinking 70mm but i keep reading that it is too much.. last time i dyno'd i was at 180whp.. that was before port and polish and the high compression skunk2 valves.. I'm guessing I should be around 200whp now..

Id go with a 68mm throtle body, Im aiming at 225whp and its what ill be using(bored ITR throttle body). I also know that erick racing and spoon sell 70mm throtle body

I dont think 70mm will be a problem, its only a question of tuning

main reason i ask.. is cuz i see people even saying 64mm is the max and that 70mm is only good for turbo'd motors.. are you boring out the opening to your intake manifold as well?

I have see dyno charts done on n/a motor with large bore and stock bore t/b and there was no difference at all. The only time it makes a difference is when air is being pushed into the intake ( turbo ).

My engine-1932 cc motor with Skunk2 Stage 2 cams picked up 2-3 hp throughout the power band with an Erick's Racing 70-68mm tapered TB vs the 62mm Type-R TB. The green line is the big TB.

It was in a book call How To Build Honda Horsepower by Richard Holdener. It has all sorts of different setups that have dyno verified results, its a great book.

What do you have the vtec set at? Seems like you are loosing lots of hp in the midrange.

At that time, the car was running a chipped P28 ECU, with a 9,200 RPM redline and VTEC at 5600. Good guess.

That book blows period. (just my .02 cents)

I've seen 2-3 hp on a JG 65mm T/B on a stock GSR block after tuning. 4-8 hp on a modify N/A 1.8L before.

Again, tuning is the key.

Now that I'm thinking, I may take the time and $$$ to compare a stock S2000(62mm, the same as ITR) vs the JG's 65mm in the next upcoming months.

Drop that vtec to 4,700 - 4,900 and you will see HUGE midrange.

Actually, with the Toda "D"s, if I drop VTEC down that low, the car will run like poop. Toda midrange is very nice, non-VTEC lobes

I was just talking about the graph you posted, maybe not your current setup. My buddy has an eg making 240 hp at the wheels out of a 1.8 bseries running 12.3 @ 110. His vtec is set at 4,800 with toda spec C's. That car you dont even hear the vtec with ITB's, it just rips.

That's what I want to know
I have another block, getting much bigger pistons and going back to the dyno in about a month.
