Well with all the recent thefts this is something i have considered as an option as opposed to purchasing aftermarket insurance. Im not too sure on the the price but i was under the impression that you pay xxx amount and then you pay a monthly fee.
Most guys here say aftermarket insurance is usually $40-$50 a month xtra but id rather pay same or more to be able to recover my car.
Looking for peoples's experience, opinions. My last car was stolen and i lost about 10k in parts, turbo, motor, electronics ect. Just looking for a way to get some more sleep at night

Well, i've honestly descovered my new "no one will ever steal my car" idea.
here's how it works, tell no one of your cars modifications, post no where on the internet of your mods, no pics etc. i keep my back seat looking as trashy as possible, system of hidden kill switches (ignition and fuel alike). and whenever i park... ANYWHERE regardless of how gay my friends think i am and how much they try and assure me of my cars safety, i remove the ecu, the ecu fuse, the battery fuse, disconnect the battery, and cover my shift ****/misc electronics with a random shirt or rag in the backseat, put the car in gear with the ebrake on very high. turn the wheel all the way to one side and make sure its locked, then i set my alarm.
it's worked thusfar

Whats funny is these days you have to be like that to protect your stuff. Dont know if anyone remembers but a while back one the R guys posted his story. From what i remember his car was stolen in/around NY and Lojack traced the car to New Jersey where the cops pulled up to the thieves stripping the car, haha.
Remarkable enough they found a bunch of other stolen parts in the house, go figure.

even with all theese modifications, anyone that wants to steal your car will almost always get it.
As long as they can get their truck in front or behind, they can tow it whever they want, and get the car in a matter of seconds/minutes... :\

the only problem with lojack is that you have to report it before cops even begin to think about looking for it. Also, its called in as a robery that already happened, not a robery in progress, so cops take there sweet *** time. If the car is stolen in the middle of the night and you dont notice till morning, its probably already too late.
Well i have a garage and my friend katrina at work has the window seat so she keeps an eye on it for me. My co-workers are so cool they let me park in the closet space so we can watch my car haha,
I went to the site today but had general information, i was looking more for people stories, good stories, bad stories.
Im tired of all these thieves and these horrible stories ive been reading lately, mase, silverEH2, diego boost and many others its sad because in mase and silvereh2 they didnt even get away with the car they wrecked it instead.

Word... I don't think some of the people responding know what exactly LoJack is. It doesn't just alert the police that your car was stolen, it emits a radio frequency so that police can locate the vehicle by plane or via police car. It is completely hidden from view, no stickers on the car or anything. The point is to make it invisible to the thieves so that they steal your car and are apprehended soon thereafter. It has been proven to work extremely well...

If I was going to get that, I would get the "early warning" version, so I would know if someone was ******* with it.
At this point in security (kill switches, paging, etc.) the main thing I am worried about is someone either breaking the window and stealing some **** from inside (stereo, gauges, etc.) or towing the car. Turning the wheel all the way to one side, as tegasaurus suggested, seems like a damned good idea if you are parked with cars on either side. I don't think they could drag it out without damaging the other cars
. At that point they would have to break the window, which is still the weak link...

called lojack said that its $695 + tax installed. You go through them and then they have a local dealer come out for installation. Someone mentioned a discount, How do you go about gettign the discount?

I would recomend calling, because tx wasn't on the list on the website, but when i called he said they have dealers locally. Someone said $600 earlier but i would pay $695. Its worth it IMO. Average alarm is almost $200 installed, aftermarket insurance is $50 or so a month, depending on how much you insure.
They said it's a flat fee, includes install, keyless entry, ect. We spend $275 for injectors, $300 on gauges, why not spend $695 and make sure thieves dont take away what you work hard everyday for.

Ryan, get a diaper bag and throw that in the backseat. Maybe smear some melted chocolate bars on some diapers and put those in the drivers seat. Nobody will touch your car, and it will smell yummy too.
