Default Wrecked Type R - What to do?

As many of you know, #55 took a pretty significant hit last weekend at Gingerman. The two front rails were moved about 6 inches to the drivers side. I've decided not to have the car fixed and to move on in some way. The question is what direction to take. As much as I love the ITR, I am ready to move onto a new project. What I'm looking to build is a fully equipped street car with all of the amenities that is very clean and very "Honda". I've already made up my mind, however I'm curious to see what platform the peanut gallery like most.

I like ek. Eks feel much more stable then egs and other lighter cars. Eks can be pretty nice also.

I voted Ek

edit: sorry to hear about the car ,it was truely nice..

having owned an r swapped ek with 5-lug, i must recommend that route. the car was comfortable, yet very fast. and it looked good too.

Sorry to hear about your car Clayton. Thank God everyone is ok.
As far as ideas, since you already have an EG, I'd try getting a 1996 Ek hatch. It's the lighter of the 96-00 models.

EG if it`s a track car, EK if you need something a little more refined.

tough call. I love EGs, but they are so damn old, outdated, and played out. On the plus side, they are light as fawk and very cheap to find a decent used one. I like the EKs too, and Id say they arent AS popular as the EGs (atleast around here, most people run EGs), but they are more modern (not saying much in terms of hondas) and they do cost more and are heavier. You looking to race the car or just keep it on the streets? damn Id say it would probably come down to choosing based on the ones you find available and seeing which is in better shape, and best price, etc. good luck

EDIT: If it came down to it, Id probably choose EK just to have a more recent model car, but I think there is quite a bit more work involved in swapping the 5 lug and motor over to the EK.

Eee-Kay Clayton!!

I'm guessing no suspension pieces are bent?

Edit: I say you can't go wrong with either an EK and EG hatch. I'm partial to the EG, but either one would be fun.

I know this sounds dumb but can someone post some pictures of an EK and an EG? I don't really know which is which.

Yea, so!? I admit it, got a problem?

EK Coupe would be uber-cool and original.

Get it in Silver or white, leave the "DX" or "HX" emblems on, and it'll be a sleeper, sort of.

Hatchbacks attract way too much attention, I had a friend with a stripped-down EG on steelies that still got jacked.
