IT will say TYPE R and painted Yellow.
Actually, the piping diameter is wider.

The b-pipe should be mandrel not crush bent. Its noticably larger than the stock pipe. With the muffler, the tip is welded on, rather than bolted on.

Here's a lil eye candy for ya .. my 97 RS stock exhaust vs. a 98 JDM ITR exhaust.

RS on the left

RS on the right

Mufflers ... RS on the left

Muffler on the car ...

As you can tell from the pics, the JDM version b pipe is about 4 inches too long .. I am told this is due to the difference between the USDM and JDM cats. I had to have the b pipe shortened by a muffler shop.
BTW: I gave $150 for the full catback + 60 for shipping ... $210 total from sonik-boom.com but it was not listed on their site ... I had to call them up.

I know a USDM ITR exhaust needs to be lengthened 4" to fit a GSR, so if the JDM ITR exhaust is 4" too long for the ITR, wouldn't it bolt right up to a GSR w/o modification?

why would it be 4" to long? but according to your logic: yes.

depends on what year GSR, 00-01 are straight bolt on I think. My 95 had to be lengthened like you said. I have no clue about the JDM ITR exhaust. Do anyone know if its true is slightly bigger in dia? I've never gotten a answer about that.

The JDM ITR exhaust is not any bigger in diameter than the USDM counterpart.

The lazy bums that shipped it to me I guess ... they were cut when I got the exhaust.

Correct. I did not buy it because of the JDM "bling" factor .. or the fact that I thought it was bigger or better .... I was simply shopping for an ITR catback ( I could care less whether or not it was JDM or USDM ) and this is all they had.
