I believe both c-speedracing and bseries.net have writeups on this.

Does it get any clearer than this?

Maybe you should take your car to a mechanic... it wouldnt take 4 days to install cams that way.

not really, i lack experience so i ask. it inserted under the cam lobe and for all i know it could be in betwen something else. it never hurts to ask.

i would rather do the cam install myself or anything possible that i can with my car rather than take it to a mechanic. beside, i did this all on my own with no help from anyone, i have to learn somehow and i find this beneficial on my behalf since its a learning experience.

I believe honda is now offering service manuals online that you can subscribe to them (all of them, not just one).

On SOHC VTEC, yes the feeler guage goes between the retainer and the locknut. I don't know about non-VTEC SOHC heads.

Some cars you have to do this. It depends on what the manufacture decides. For example. some DSM requires that the valve lash gets set between the vlave and rocker.
