Full Race Turbo Kit T3 60-1
Whats a efficient compression ratio for a GSR motor with that turbo. I would like to go with 10.1 flat top GSR pistons like JE or weis. Whats everyones views on that. I will prolly ask Geof from full race the same question so if you see this go ahead and post what your thoughts are.............
9:1 or 10:1 do work well, i like 9:1 in the western states where you can only get 91 octane, east coast, home of 93 and 94 at almost every pump lets you play with 10:1

Well said Geoff. I would go with 10:1 in my next motor ( i have 9:1 right now)

i would go with 10:1 with my next motor also! it allows for a little more power with less boost as long as the tuning is correct. plus when your not boosting hte car has a little more power at half throttle. 10:1+good tuning=power......... 10:+high a/f ratios=good luck!

why would you want such high compression....thats like a tuning nightmare with boost......go 8.5:1 or 9:1 minimum, you can make more power a lot more safe, 10:1 is just f-ing nuts with boost, what happens when you have low boost and high compression and all of a sudden you want more power?? rasie the boost? with that high of compression your asking to self-destruct a motor..... but what do i know i have a slow d-series with low boost and low compression, making a non-stressful 205 whp with 6psi in my crx.....oooh stupid me....

Um, with a proper engine management and a good tuner, why would a 10:1 turbo motor blow up? thats not super high at all, 11 or 12:1 is super high, 10:1 is about normal these days, Not tryin to be a dick, but under 8:1 is rarely done anymore. And i wouldnt preach it if it was detrimental. The numbers dont lie man.

im gonna go with the noob on this one.
i'd rather compromise streetability at low RPM and run 8:1 @ 18 or even 16 psi, than 10:1 at 10 psi. but hey, that's just me, im a poor highschool student hungry for more boost and more reliability (cost efficient power owns j00)

I totally agree with the 10.1 that is a decent compression number even for a track car. I have AEM EMS for it so it will be well tuned. Anything below 9.5-1 is junk there is not point people think that just cuase you have alittle higher compression that you can only run 10 psi, thats BS i will run 10 PSI on the street and like 20+ at the track on some 116 octane. As far as gas on the west coast I couldn't even name a place in Oregon that serves up 91 octane everything is 93 and there is even a place that has 98 octane for sale. So I should be fine on that aspect.

10:1 > 8:1 and has its benifits, but like i said (just my opinion), i'd rather 8:1 at 18+ psi than 10:1 at 10 psi. and in 1993 arizona had 93 octane gas, now we have 91... improvement?
ps, i live in arizona so the 110 degree weather plays a part in my detonation lacking 8:1 "liking". If i was in california, or a cooler state, i would hcose 10:1 anyday over 8:1
no comment on the FO LIFE comment sam haha, you and i will remember that comment for a looong time...
