He's a great guy, and has one helluva site. Let's not let this thing go to waste! Help a fellow Luder out. I know I'm going to make another donation, and will continue to help him out until he's in the clear.

I'm sure many of you have recieved it, but for those of you who haven't, please read this and take it to heart. HondaPrelude.com has been around for a while, and has been a great site for Prelude enthusiasts from across the globe. We need to help them out in any way that we can...

Thanks to the generous donations from many hondaprelude.com members we
just made the first payment on our own dedicated servers for the site.
The hondaprelude.com site was moved from its old home in Tucson, AZ to its
new home in Durham, NC the first week of July. The site is now much
faster and much, much more reliable with server uptime very close to 100%.
Owning our own servers opens up a wealth of possibilities for the site
such as nickname@hondaprelude.com member email accounts, chat server and
much more.

Unfortunately, new site features and even the future of the site are
threatened by lack of funds. We are paying for the servers in 12 equal
payments over the course of this year plus we have to pay monthly hosting
costs. The donations to date only covered just a bit over a month of the
first server payment/hosting costs. I plan on personally covering at least
one more month but after that I will probably have to shut down the site
if we can't begin to generate revenue.

This is where you come in! How does hondaprelude.com plan on generating
revenue? We are offering banner ad placement on the site. We desperately
need help from members to sell ads on the site. All of the information

Our goal is to become self sufficient within 2 months. It is going to be
tough but I think we can do it. Again, since we simply can't afford a
sales staff at this time, we need help from members to sell ads on the
site. If you have sales experience and would be willing to try to sell
ads for the site we could really use your help. Also, if you know of
businesses that might be interested in advertising on the site, please
send them our way. Believe me, no one will be more upset than I if we have
to shut down the site in 2 months. For almost 3 years I have spent nearly
every spare moment developing this site. The other hondaprelude.com staff
members have likewise spent a tremendous amount of time building this
community. But now we really need all members to help us out.

This is my final plea for donations from members. I have honestly done
all that I can to keep this site running. I can't contribute any more time
or money than I am now. I need help from all of you. If you would

Now for the computer geeks. hondaprelude.com now generates well over 5
Million impressions a month on the new servers. (Multimillion dollar
venture capital funded speedoptions.com generates a little over 20 million
impressions a month and targets all import cars.) I don't think there is
another site on the net devoted to a single model of car that even comes
close. We serve well over 80,000 sessions a week now. The new servers
are dual Pentium 866 MHz machines with a Gig of RAM and 10,000 RPM SCSI
drives. There is a dedicated web server and a dedicated database server
for the site. The site just plain hauls *** now if you have a broadband
connection. You technical people know what goes into building and running
a site of this caliber. Don't let it get shut down now when we are
starting to kick *** and take names.

Thanks for posting that JG...... I feel very strong about this as well, considering Chris has dumped SO much time, money and hard work into this site, gets nothing in return, and wants nothing more but to keep the site alive. Can you imagine paying four-figures a month, out of your own pocket, just to keep a website up? I can't.

We have asked for donations in the past, and while many people seem interested in helping, the money has not come through.

As you can see, this is Chris' final plea for help. I sent my donation last night via paypal, and I hope other site enthusiasts like myself consider doing the same.

As sad as it is, it's all or nothing now. Chris has been close to throwing the towel in, and nobody wants that. Personally, I can't blame him. Too many people just do not understand or respect what that site is, and what it's taken to get where it is. No ubb here folks! I am now working with Chris on getting the site redesigned, and I think this will boost morale once again.

Hang in there Chris, this one's for you.
