I left my house 4:30 am this morning to drive to Rockingham, NC to pick up a few parts. Took me 5 1/2 hours to get there with my hatch.

96 gs-r mounts <-----hard to find
civic type-r clutch and plate
96 gs-r stock flywheel <---- damn it's heavy!!
96 gs-r stock header+downpipe

I have been looking at the classifieds since august.

I got an idea about what is a good deal and what is not. Always h-t people renspond to my IMs asking feedback on deals that came up on the classifieds here.

Sometimes you have to be one of the first people to see the ad. Then you have to be agressive. Keeo looking and don't be afraid to drive 700 miles in one day. Shipping engine parts is a pain in the ***, costs money too

lol, first of all i drove from arizona to wv twice.... one with a u-haul and another time with my laser turbo..... 32 hours for 2200 miles

On the way there was fun. I had my laptop hooked up to the lighter....

watched/heard 3 movies

Dumb and dumberer, holywood homicide and f&f2.... lol

You know when you have a passenger in the car and once in a while you look at them while they speak? Same thing

EDIT: I am not messing with you either.. By the time the third movie was over I was there...

One the way back it did suck but I could always look at the b18c1 stamp in my rear view mirror.

sick man

Where can I check what those numbers on the block mean?

I am taking the block to be honed soon.

Here's what I am looking for. I want a realiable gs-r motor. I don't want to auto-x, drag it. BUT I do like to help out perforamance.

While rebuilding it to original specs, what would be the best bang for the money?

CTR cams with stock rods?

ITR cams?

I will be using a gs-r head.

The skunk2 manifold has good reviews.

Please suggest afew setups that will not rape my pocket. Again, I am looking for the best most efficient, easy on the wallet solution here.

Keep the short block all stock, and get an ITR head?

Come on people, I need your feedback.

They charge $20 to hone and $150 to balance the whole thing. So I need to have the pistons, rods, flywheel bought before taking it there, right?
