Pics from World-Challenge cars at Road Atlanta (20 pics!)
Had a great time at RoadAlanta, even with the crappy weather on sat! Here are some pics from Saturday....I got to meet the Realtime guys, got a t-shirt, and a couple small parts off the Type R that crashed...loads of fun!
If anyone wants larger size pics, let me know, I have the full-size (2240x1680) ones available.

Yes because Galati crashed the RS6 during testing (not at road atlanta).
It was also cool (for me, not for PK!) seeing PK loose it in T12 on the first lap of qualifying in the wet right in front of me watching from the pit wall. He slid all the way into T1 while hitting the car against the wall in the process. (Oh and PD was not too happy about that!) Later in the same session the realtime ITR lost it in T12 and crashed for the final time that weekend because they decided not to fix it again. Mazzotta's rsx also lost a motor making this a pretty tough weekend for realtime. King Motorsports had it even worst as their RSX lost both motors that they had forcing them to pack up and go home before even racing (again).

Alex, did I read somewhere you were helping crew with Foo's team or something? I stopped by there sat afternoon but didnt see you. (Didnt ask either however).
Also you are the first person to tell me what happened to King, I saw their truck leaving mid-sat and I was like wtf! I thought the K-series engine was supposed to be pretty reliable, odd there were 3 that went out this weekend.

Yes I did crew for Baxter/Foo SpeedSport LLC team, but mid day on saturday there was an ALMS team (R&S #12 LMP 900) that was looking for help and came by us, so I decided to help them out, too. On sat afternoon I was with them during a couple of their sessions practicing the job that I would have to do for their race on sunday. And what a cool experience too! I was doing timing/scoring for their race log (using one of those talking electronic timing devices), but at the same time I had one of the TV screens in front of me with about 6 channels with only timing/scoring data. But the best part was that I could also switch to any camera feed from any of the turns that I wanted to see just by flipping the channels. Actually another guy on the team was doing just that on another screen, and so by switching the camera feeds we basically always had our car in view anywhere it was on the track. Working with an ALMS team was an added bonus to the weekend and I'm looking forward in doing this again at the petit le mans.

Not sure about what problem the realtime guys had, but the King car had the same bearing failure on both motors. Tough for them since their engines are built in japan by mugen, so they always have to ship them back and forth! (This kind of reminds me of the Toyota Celica Touring program of a few years ago that had to be scrapped. From what I remember the cars ran through a whole bunch of motors during the season because of a premature bearing failure happening at constant high rpm use due to an inadequate oil supply that Toyota was never able to fix.)
