Default Fabricating rear luggage divider ?

I was looking at my old one that is sitting in the garage ( its all cracked thats why its in the garage ) and it looks pretty easy to make. I was wondering if anyone else has ever done this ? If so maybe you could help me answer some of my questions, the piece I have here is pretty tore and broken and it looks like the piece of wood near the top actually bends a little, is this true or is it one solid piece of straight wood ? Also, what kind of wood did you use ? I remember someone saying something before about this wood that was almost like cardboard just harder. And what kind of fabric did you use and how did you make it stay on. For anyone wondering what piece I am talking about, its pictured in the pic below. Help help or opinions will be gladly appreciated.

you can get 1/4 inch thick hard board at lowes. use speaker box carpet and 3m spray trim adhesive and you should be ready to rock.

I agree with him but one thing about the 3M adhesive spray. It gets really tacky really fast so you have to move fast with it. I dont know if you want to cover the whole thing with carpet or just the front but it shouldnt be too hard if you caut the pieces longer spray the wood with the ahesive spray and then just lay the wood on top of the carpet and then do the finishing touches to it.

So the wood is perfectly straight right ? Does it get smaller at the top so the rear shelf sits flush or is it all the same size ?

Will you check for me tomorrow ? Thanks, I was thinking if it gets small at the top I get to use the one attachment with the dremel , but hey it might be all the same size and if thats the case it will be a lot easier then I thought.

Well seeing how you have to cut out the section for the pieces that hold it up and all I would go with hardboard anything like copmressed or fiber board is more prone to cracking and chipping and also easier to strip it screws and then have a chunk fall off. IMO I would just stay away from anything like particle board or alike.
