i've reached a cross-roads with my car (autoX)
so I have at my fingertips a b16a2 for 500 bux (head and block). should I go ahead and pick it up and start accumlating the parts for it (new internals, whatever can handle 11-12:1 cr and can be spun close to 9500 RPMs, ITBs, TEC-III) and make the jump into SM with my car, or should I stay in STS and just keep developing the suspension? either way I need to do engine work if I want to be competitive (I burn @ a quart of oil a month, so a factory rebuild is in order, fresh motor=more powAr)
i guess I kinda have HP envy after seeing some pretty build hondas this weekend.

while its tempting it will turn into a big *** money pit.
stay in STS and work on your skillz0rz and subspenstion
$500 would buy an evo weekend.

From what I've seen, the B16 will not have enough torque or powerband to be more than regionally competitive in SM. An ITR motor in a Civic HB is pretty good, but even the good ones are behind cars like Daddio's turbo neon. If you want to stay N/A, I would say that at least 2.0L is needed along with a really light car. I know people who know more than me about this are at the ProSolo this weekend, give this a bump when they are back and see what the opinions are.
this is very very true....and since I have yet to do an Evo school, and I feel my learning curve has kinda plateaued, it may be time for a kick start.....
