B16 Cost?
Well doing it yourself with new timming belt, watter pump, plugs, all that sort of good stuff to make it pretty close to new again. With mounts, axels shift linkage, ecu, motor and all that good stuff. Its about $2500 doing it with a couple friends and over a weekend. If getting it done by a pro probley add a grand.
You and a couple of friends can handle this swap...pretty straightforward. Liberio in Ca has a few b16a1s with and without LSDs..they sell pretty fast, and the supply is limited.
I recommend swapping yo' self because a shop charges from 6-800 for th labor...and that suxors!

I have yet to see a B16 swap go in for under $3k if done by a shop. This is if you use all of the parts listed. And the shop used an aftermarket mount kit, like HASport of Place Racing. I've seen shops weld "custom" mounts, which I'm not a fan of at all. Looked ghetto. But you can expect to spend between $3k-$4k depending on what you get done extra. A new timing belt and water pump are definitely recommended, which I'm sure the shop will tell you also. Should also do a tune-up. (cap, rotor, plugs, etc.) Also, you may need a clutch, depending on what kinda of shape the stock one is in.
I've also found that the price always goes up in the end by atleast $100 or more, for some reason. You needed some extra wire or somethin'.. lol I dunno, but it never fails.

initially i got a b16a and had it put into my 90 integra, but im putting all that ive gotten into my crx (dx) and here is a price breakdown of what everything cost me:
b16a + PR3 - 1000
J1 transmission - 400
ls 5th gear swap -150
zdyne ecu - PR3 +100
clutchmaster stg3 + HD pressureplate + 7.5 flywheel - 650
swap into DA6 (just for reference) - 600
Now ive gotten two estimates for a swap into a crx and both prices are pretty similar
Mount kit (not sure of brand) - 300
Installation labor - 500
wiring for mpfi (dx only) - 300
Installation for timing belt and water pump - 100
timing belt and water pump - ~100 ( with employee discount)
of course had i purchaced the transmission and motor together it would have been cheaper on me, i did what i could. You will also need to include the cost of axels which go for about 70 each. keep in mind that prices may have gone down a bit since i got most of my stuff (~2 years ago). The price is also going to depend on where you are in the country, hope this helps
