EP3/DC5 HYBRIDS?... Live on
Those engineers at honda have done it again. I am sure this has been covered and only the $$$ need attempt and of this, but it seems that hybrid hondas will live on into a new generation. Honda fanatics everywhere stood in amazement the first time they seen a running LS/VTEC or heard of a b20 in a civic. Well it seems that our passion will live on. After reading the new review of the Acura TSX in the SCC, I noticed how popular the K series platform ihas become. First the RSX with it's K20A, and then the not so powerfull, not so VTEC Civic SI followed. The release of a K powered CRV tantilized tuners with the possibility of another CRV-tec. Hasport shown the world that a EP-3 civic powered by a RSX type S engine and 6 speed transmission is possible. Imagine the possiblities. The new TSX comes with the same Valve train as the RSX (equipped with a REAL VTEC system, unlike the crv and the civic.) but maintains the same bore and even higher compression pistons than it's SUV counterpart. EP3 powered with a TSX engine(K24A2) and transmission+hybrid. I am sure it will be a while before you'll see any TSXs in the salvage yard but i have seen aleast a dozen trashed RSXs. Of course tearing down a 2002 civic Si wouldn't be the smartest thing in the world but it is only a matter of time before you see an EP3 running around with a K24A2.
Got hybrid?
Got hybrid?
ummm...hey buddy welcome to last week, but we already got some EP's in here running K24's.

if you read they are running different heads...essentially the A2 head (VTEC on intake/exhaust). Learn something before making yourself look like an idiot pal.

maybe I am not the idiot "PAL". DOES switching the heads give you the 2.4L AND the higher C.R piston....(TSX..only BUDDY)
gayer than a vegitarian eating roast beef....

I drive an EP with an RSX Type S head loaded with Type R cams with a K24A bottom end and a JRSC supercharger on it. I have for months. By August the new engine should be in and I should have 325hp at the wheels.
We are doing our best to keep the hybrid flame burning brightly.
