Default Skunk 2 or stock GSR??

okay, i've been contemplating about getting a skunk2 manifold or just sticking w/ the stock gsr manifold for my turbo setup.... the JG is out of the question now since i'm still basically stock and i'll be running 10 psi at most and revving to the stock redline as of now...... thus, is the skunk2 a proven modification?? or am i better off staying w/ the stock gsr manifold and spending my $$ on other mods..

i would definantly go with the Skunk2 IM over the stock GSR.
the stock IM on the GSR is good if the motor is stock and running with a close to stock ECU program. it yields good low end using the secondary butterflies, but does have more surface area which creates more drag for the incoming air.
the ITR style Skunk2 IM does away with the 8 runner/secondary butterfly setup for less drag and better flow, especially in the higher rpm range.

here is a good example of that.

notice in the dyno that w/ the stock gsr manifold the car has more low end and quicker spool up. torque in the midrange suffers horribly. Peak hp is similar between the two mani's but if u look @ the torque curve the GSR w/ skunk2 mani is gonna accelerate alot faster through the rev range. It has more area under the curve and you aren't gonna loose as much acceleration when upshifting. Id say its worth every penny.

on that dyno, the a/f ratios werent tuned.... if they were the gsr would be closer to the skunk2 as its running richer in boost.

Courtney did almost 700hp on a stock GSR mani. I'm pretty sure the butterflies are removed however.

how effective is this route?
I mean taking out the butterflies and keeping the inside ports same.
I have no idea of what kind of powerband it would yeild
