Garrett turbo Questions
Alright, first I'd like to say thanks for everyones help so far on this site!
Here it goes, I found a Garrett Turbo on a New Yorker and Lebaron in the local junkyard and the guy said he would sell them each for 25 bucks. Is this a Good deal? I don't know what type of turbo, ie T3 or what not, it is. It is still on the car and all you can see is the name Garrett.
Second it has cooling lines running to it. Would those cooling lines have to be used or could I run the turbo without using them? Is there an advantage to using them?

Most likely thst turbo will be too big for a Honda...I would opt for a turbo off of a smaller engine, or you are looking to have a lot of fabricating to get it to fit and major turbo lag.
Second, at $25, I guarantee they probably need to be rebuilt or overhauled.
Last...those cooling lines are probably the oil feed and return lines....I would buy my own instead of re-using old ones...I think that $300-$400 is a more realistic price for buying a turbo in ready to use condition.

you can buy those turbos if you want but then you would have to fabricate everything to make it work right. First off check the flange of it. Is it t3 flange if so you are pretty much set then. If not then you would have to find a custom manifodl wiht a different flange. The oillines and water lines should not be reused. 25 buck i would send out he turbo jsut to get some new seals and fresh rebuilc cost you another 150. so 175 for good turbo not bad actually
Do some reasearch and find out what turbos were on those cars. You need to know so you check out the maps on them and decide if the sizing is appropriate for your car.
