I know I can't just role up in home depot and buy some paint to paint my car with.. So where can I get the good **** ? Like dupont.

And how much does it normally cost ? I'm not looking for any kind of "candy" colors or anything.

 

easiest thing would be to look it up in the phone book, probably under painters supply or automobile paint. Or roll up to a local collision shop and ask them where they get there paint at. As far as cost, you get what you pay for. When i painted my motorcycle i used 3 colors of Dupont, i believe 1 pint of 2 colors and a 1/4 pint of another. Cost about 125-150 if memory serves correct. But one color was red (hella exspensive) and and orange (red pigment so still a little pricey) and the other was universal black (cheap). I say get PPG or Dupont.

 

most decent automotive stores sell/mix paint. At the place I work at, its about $90 per gallon(thats canadian currency). Although price depends on color too, not a whole lot, but it does make a difference. Also, color matched spray bombs(150grams) are about $16.00(canadian).
