Roughly $80 to $90.
You also need the following sized flange bolts (or bolt/washer combos) and maybe a flywheel cover (optional). You might already have some of the bolts.
2 Bolt, Stiffener Brace [12x1.25x50] - Honda 17mm socket head
1 Bolt, Stiffener Brace [8x1.25x60] - Honda 12mm socket head
1 Bolt, Stiffener Brace [8x1.25x35] ..
1 Bolt, Stiffener Brace [8x1.25x30] ..
And, the brace is cast aluminum. Don't cut yourself on the edges.

why does the type-r have this and all other models get that hokey black steel cover?
does this brace/cover actually have a function other than to look pretty?

It's called an engine "stiffener", and it's supposed to reduce flexing of the engine/transmission. Honda seems to think that it does something.
my motor did have one, my tranny is off and the brace really blends with the block if you dont know what you are looking for, thanka alot guys.
so this acts as the flywheel cover too? I'm missing mine. but my motor came with that black flywheel cover. will this bolt on?
Yes.
Yes.
You can either ditch the black flywheel cover or grind/drill part of it out and reuse it underneath the stiffener. Your choice, but you don't need it if you use the ITR stiffener.
