Which light-weight rims are the most roadworthy?
I know that I like the Volk Te-37's and the Mugen's and the Spoon's but have heard that at least the Spoon's are a not well suited for regular daily road driving. "And I drive in NY!" I will be looking to upgrade to light-weight racing rims but will also want them to function for on the road days too.
I've seen that the Volk's and Mugens seem to have the best of both worlds with durability and less weight, and I am fond of the Volk's the most so far. Is there another known company with durable, light, racing/or style rims in 15 or 16"?
Thanks for your help...

I recently damaged my rims due to road construction. There were no bump signs and it was dark, but I won't get into that here. Anyways, I hit about a 2inch tall concrete lip going at least 40mph, and 2 of my TE-37s have SMALL bends in the outer lip. That's all. Volks are STRONG *** wheels.
I do not know of any durability issues, but the Racing Hart CP-035s are the lightest aluminum alloy wheels in all sizes. Desmond Regamaster Evos are also forged lightweight wheels, and I do not think they are lighter than the CP-035.
Are you worried about corrosion? Bending or scratching the rims?

For the money, the Kosei K-1s are worth it in 16". To spend over $2000 on rims and possibly bend them from everyday driving is not worth the trouble. If you only use the rims for racing...that's a different story.

Most of the forged rims have anodized surfaces which makes cleaning them a little more time consuming (especially the MF-10s).
Thanks guys,
This helps answer one of the curious questions that bugs me from day to day whilst I deal with the daily monochrome happenings!

depends if you put shitty tires on them, i have racing hart cp10's on my car and i had yoko a520's on there and my wheels were nearly indestructible, but now i got some khumos on there (shittiest tires ever) i hit a speedbump and the sidewall gave and broke my rim in 3 places putting a nice 230 dollar hole in my pocket and one still remains cracked and bent, but im 230 short for another ya dig...
other than that volks suck just cause hehe if they dont get bent driving on the streets then your car will dissapear with them on hahaha...
spoons are jizz rims that say i have money to blow and thats all the volk ce 28's are much lighter and are currently the lightest forged wheel out there now.
