Cam Gear Settings (Not the typical "whats your settings Q's)
I'm not asking for anyones setting so please don't tell me to hit a DYNO and that all motors are different. My setup and question is on a B18C1 w/ JRSC @ 6psi . Currently already dyno tuned with Skunk2 cam gears to -2 E and +3 IN. I'm curious is there anyone who has retarded both cams to gain better power?
I'm curious because a mechanic friend of mine mention he might retard both when he tunes his gears. And then recently I read in Turbo magazine that a Focus gone Turbo benifited substantially with the cam gears set to -8 E and -6 IN.
I know my motor is not a Focus' ZETEC motor, nor is everything I read in a magazine the last word. Just that this is from 2 seperate sources now and its got me curious, is this something worth looking into and having the gears retuned? Or is it a waste of time + money? So I'm asking for anyone's great motor knowledge or personal experiences. Thanks!
