Default Catz 4500k HID Install *PICS* *56k BEWARE*

So I finally caved in and got an HID kit. I decided to go with the Catz kit, since I've been hearing so many great things about them. And now that I have them I am very pleased. Its a very high quality kit, and easy to install. The hardest part was finding room to mount everything. It's 3am and I just finished installing them, I still need to properly aim them when I get the chance. Ok now for the pictures.

The kit

Whoever says 4500k is yellow is out of their minds. These light up blue/purple and warm to a nice white.

4300-4500k

Since this is Integra specific I'll start it here. Mods give it a few days please

Special thanks to Eric @ http://www.liteswap.com

wrong forum dumbass... this belongs in the appearance & cosmetic forum...

j/k Looks clean... I did the same for my buddy's Accord a week ago. Fun stuff, except he got the JDM SiR lights, so he had an H4 kit instead of the 9006, and we had to cut the stock wiring. , can't wait to see it in person

gay, adding that "Integra specific" mumbo jumbo before the edit tags get placed, thus making my post look retarded

Yeah you won't get the yellow effect with most projectors. Definitely looks nice...I'm planning on upgrading my HID's with 50w Aleurswald ballast. You'll get about whopping 5,000 lumens instead of the stock 3,200 lumens I HID's.

Looks good however i disagree with you on anything beyond 4500 is stupid.
Its really a matter of taste.

yea, seems most people want high temp ratings just for the "blue/purple" hid look, saying things like the 4500k is to yellow. i felt the same way, but trust me the 4500k units are nowhere near yellow. they are a pure white. with a bit of blue in it

If everyone thinks the 4500 kit is yellow, I wonder what they're saying about the 4300's? I have a 4300K kit on mine and it doesn't look yellow at all.

BTW, those look great.

4300k + 4500k = same light color output.

Looks good dude!

I dont know about saying anything above is stupid...different strokes for different folks. I have a 6000K kit on mine, and I think the output is much better looking (I dig the purple/blue) and comprable in terms of brightness.

Either way, nice clean install dood, I need to tuck away all my wires, I just dont care about that **** enough

as much as I love HID. I think you should get a reflector that is designed for HID. with the factory reflector, you will blind other people and you will get tickets.

our Integras use projector housings, not reflectors, but I think I know what you mean.

as bunmango said, we have projector headlamps so we shouldn't have that problem.

Not trying to jack your thread or anything, but here's a short vid I made of my 4300k Philips kit warming up. Thought this might answer a lot of questions.

Sorry about the crappy quality, I used a digicam to record it.

Where did you mount the ballast on the passenger side? I only see the small black box thingy.

the ballast is the silver box in front of the abs unit.

as everyone else said, our cars use projectors.

mine still needs to be adjusted, i guess the pictures make it look like they are blinding other drives, but in real life they dont have that much glare. its just the picture
