car vibrates
My shifter vibrates at idle and whole car vibrates badly when i turn on AC. the engine has 110k miles. What causes the vibration? worn out mounts? mounts' bolts are loose? or lack of horse power? how can i eliminate this vibration?
oh and i am not gonna get rid of AC. it's daily driving car and i wont drive around without AC at 100 degree outside.

it could be a combination of things...my friends ride vibrates because his motor mounts make his car stiff ...but it could be mounts that are old ...your exhaust hitting your body many things...where does it come from
i have an eg and just had the motor rebuilt, when i come to a redlight my door panels start rattling, very very annoying! i think its just my idle is set to low, if i give it some gas it seems to quiet down a little.
check all the rubber inserts on your mounts... one or two might be worn out, broken, in which the mount will rattle your chasis. exhaust is another possibility, check to se if its touching the chasis anywhere.

Your car is just old, as was put to me many times. Welcom to the world of Hondas! Some cars just seem to vibrate while others are fine. What kind of car do you drive? It gets worse when the ac is on becaus eof a higher idle. How does your car feel at higher RPM's?
When does it ever get to 100 in NC? It has been cool enough not to use it this year.

If it happens more when you cut the a/c on, it's probably your idle. A/c is gonna put more strain on the motor and it usually will lower the idle slightly. You're probably just going slightly below the point where the engine idles smoothly. Raise it up some and see if that helps (idle should be right around 800 rpm). Otherwise, what mods have you done? Any? Could be something you've put on/taken off causing it to vibrate a bit more. I've got ES motor mount inserts & my vibration at idle increased quite a bit from a more solid contact to the chassis.
i drive 95 del sol. Last wed, when i comming back from golf, it was like 97 degree. I just have i/h/c. So why old car vibrates while newer car doesn't? I'll try to increase idel little.
