How To unfreez pistons
Does anyone have any good ideas about how to unfreez pistons? i got a block the other day and the pistons are frozen, i turned the block upside down and hit the rods with a rubber malet but that didnt do anything. any ideas?
Have you tried spraying WD-40 on the cylinder walls and letting that sit for a while and soak down? It may just need some lubrication to help it get started if its been sitting for a while. Just a thought.
nope, not gona use the old pistons, i'm doing a Toyota honda hybrid D series so i got some nice new shiny toyota supra pistons to put in as soon as i get the block honed and posted.
. thanks for the help, any other suggestions if that doesnt work?

try Marvel Mystery Oil. It worked great for me with a 1940 Ford flat head that hadn't been run since the 60's. If not just take the block to a machine shop and let them deal with it.
