This will be a photo post... if you're interested.. PM me.. it retains all stock wiring mounting points.. etc..

brakes are noticably stiffer

Team HD Strikes again...

HD... HomeDepot..

Not fully mounted in pics...

I used some of this for a more stealth install... pics will be up tomorrow w/ everything fully mounted.

Let me know what you think guys..

That looks strong like a paper clip.

Couldn't you just masking tape it to the firewall?

Now if you were to make it out of 3/16" plate steel and weld about 4 triangular supports like this:

And then use large bolts to throughbolt it through the shock tower, then you might have something.

i dont know how strong of a piece that mc brace needs to be without bending from the pressure...

but i will tell you that those hinges hes using are quite strong. (strong enough i had a very hard time bending them even with a clamp) they sell them at home depot for 3-4 dollars a piece, and i think they are made of some zinc/steel compound.

Well I know how much force it takes to bend the firewall, so it'd have to be stronger than that.

Just so you know,

If you do this:
http://www.hogens.com/car/defa...e.php

It also utilizes stock mounting points

lol... i like mine better

unpainted

painted

notice how i cut round pieces out of strap steel and welded them onto the bolthead? i don't like my m/c putting all that force onto a small area. but that's just me. also, i took the tab off the wiring harness, and tacked it on there. talk about stealth, damn, i don't even know it's there. blueR and davidnyc, i did this a long time ago, and you never showed interest. humpfff...

I'm with Rodney on that one.
Pin hole point on the MC isn't good.

Looks good Rodney.

yeah, i'm working that part now. i've ran 3 days at VIR full and checked it after words and saw no damage or ware to the MC housing it's self, but i still want more contact than just the bolt point.

Why would you put that crap on your car when you could be using lumber brackets from home depot???

To All that made there own MC brace i give you all alot of credit for doing your own stuff.

But ill just stick with some company that makes them all day and know where to put the brace.. I think all the companys that make MC braces did alot more testing then all of you..

So ill just stick with my nice and pretty blue Cusco MC brace..

to talk about the seat bracket.. we made a set of those today too.. along w/ the mc brace...

those other MC braces look good.. but i have no access to a welder, so i can't do much better than it is..

but this MC brace holds up good enough for me.. compared to cusc0 = 80 bux?

if its starts to flex.. then o well.. i'll tighten the bolt some more...

can't ask for much if its 5 bux.. all i know is that my brake pedal is stiffer.

The HD versions looks like it will work, but I think some of the other custom designs are probably more effective.

Personally, I'm waiting a little while longer for the IPS version...
