WOT and partial throttle tuning

Your getting hondata for your new engine right? Are you having Dynospot Racing tune your hondata? I'm not sure if I want to go there because I've heard good and bad things about them. I also want a place that will do wot tuning and partial throttle tuning and I'm pretty sure they don't do partial. How has the service with your engine been going with them? I also saw your posts on HT and I noticed that your going to run 12:5 compression, is your new engine going to be strictly race because you won't be able to run on 91 octane. 11:5 should be the highest your able to run on 91 octane. I'm running 11:1 right now and its fine. Oh and if your going to get jun cams they just came out with jun IV cams, I would go with those there supposed to be more aggressive than jun III and skunk2 stage 3.</TD></TR></TABLE>
that was a reply to me telling a guy on my board that someone was selling p28s in SF...im wondering what is he talking about when he says WOT/partial throttle tuning...any info? He's probly gonna read this...im just wondering what partial throttle tuning is, is it something beyond a regular S-AFC tuning? cause if it isnt...then i know all about it...if it is...then id like to hear...I dont know why dynospot wouldent do partial throttle tuning if they are a authorized hondata tuner...call me dumb or what...its just a question...lol

If you want your car to run really good you should part throttle tune your car so that it runs with the optimum air/fuel ratio. Every modified car will run differently so you can't have the same computer tune as a stock car and expect it to run perfectly. Full throttle tunning is just to get max power.
ok, so i guess im missing why dynospot or any other DECENT shop wouldent do this...and also...whats the reason behind them not doing it if they dont?
yea dynospotracing does not tune partial.
they tuned my full throttle and i got 188whp out of it. i baselined at 172whp with p28 chipped. so hondata s200 gained me about 16whp. this is on a 11.3 cr pistons with 1-layer headgasket, 1.8L.

when you drive your car, you do not do WOT every time do you? no.
partial throttle tuning tunes the a/f when you're doing normal street driving.
WOT is for when you're racing. the ecu reads 2 maps. hondata can be tuned
for both.

OH, so i should find someone who does partial tuning too...or can it just run off the WOT map? cause i dont want it running stock when im not WOT.

At part throttle your not aiming for a specific A\f ratio.
Your shooting for no dead spots, and no ping\knock on a given gas. You basically tune part throttle on 'feel'. That is, unless your using a load dyno to lockin an rpm and vary the load.

tuning for partial throttle will increase your gas mileage, drive smoother in the mid range areas and overall more smoother linear poewrband, especially in transition from part to full throttle
