Those running JRSC............

Well I'm about 90 % certain that I'll be making my passes at the track by way of JRSC. I've been reading up alot on it, and I've seen a few concerns noted about supercharger/engine cooling. I just wanted to know what you guys are running in conjunction with your SCs to keep your engine nice and cool ? have any of you had problems with overheating at all ?
Colder plugs (2 steps), Mugen (or whatever) thermostats and radiator caps, synthetic oil, Water Wetter.
This stuff keeps the engine cooler, but the problem with the JRSC is intake charge temperature - a cold air intake can help this, as well as a Hondata gasket, and yep, N2O.

Things I should've initially installed:
1. Hondata IM Gasket
2. JR $10 Thermostat
3. Water Injection (if it were $250 cheaper)

Heat isnt so much a problem as it is a limitation. Once you start playing with big numbers via increased boost, heat becomes more of an issue.
A Hondata gasket is a must, for one. Thats one thing I wish I installed when I put my charger in, but it just came out and its benefits werent so clear at the time. Water injection is crap, IMO. You may as well run a small shot of nitrous if you ask me.
For solid power, a tuned 6PSI setup is a blast to drive. When you want to tear it up, a small 15-20 shot will do the trick to get you more power as well as cool the intake charge. If your motor is in good shape and the car is tuned with an efficient way to control the nitrous, you shouldnt be in any worse shape than without it.
As far as other than nitrous, tegunderpressure brought up the idea of a cryo intake recently. I havent discussed this for a long time, since back on Hostboard a long time ago, and I am curious to know how well it works. I still havent come across anyone who has used one in conjunction with the charger or not.

i have a hondata intake gasket that was installed at the time i put the sc on...sorry, no points of reference for comparison on this one.
however, i did recently create a "cold air bath" for my shorty iceman that worked really well. I could definitely notice a difference. basically, all i did was cut the CAI piping from the iceman and replicate the piece that BSQ on this board sells. It works well IMO.

on eof my friends has a JRSC at 10psi and he has the fluidyne radiator in his b16 crx and he takes FOREVER to heat up. its kind of a bitch for him.

could you elaborate on this "cold air bath" some more? And what intake is this? iceman?

you can't see it in the pick, because i hadn't created the intake bath yet....but the intake is an iceman, but it is the shorty version. the extra piping that creates the CAI i used to create the "snorkel" or "bath" as you would call it. it is similar to what the comptech icebox does, just minus the box. essentially, if this picture was updated, you would see a pipe directly under the filter, which then goes down, and twists into the fender well (the same way the CAI used to sit) but the other open end of the pipe sits directly behind the sidemarker. So in a sense, the air comes rushing in (the pipe is over 4" wide) from behind the sidemarker, turns and shoots right at the filter...providing some cooling effects on the intake temp. Search for "BSQ" on this board and in his sig should be some links to the products he has...you will get an idea of what i am talking about if you haven't gotten it by now.
Ive been waiting to see some IAT tests with that DIY extension on a JRSC.
Jabroni, want to do this: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=528814 and let us know the difference in temps? Or you have Hondata correct? Datalogging?

get a vortech supercharger with an aftercooler. they now have them for the gsr and ls. i will be getting a vortech w/ aftercooler for my ls as soon as i pay this bitch off.
