allright so im driving down one of the nicest newest paved roads in the city, probably about 6miles long, all freshly paved asphalt. and this 92-95hatchback si comes rippin up in the passing lane. im like yess race time. so we catch the next light......it turns green and we start to go... he pulls on me by about a car length but we really didnt have a str8 up start.. at about 100kmh i start to catch up to him. on the top of third gear i slow right down. i pull up to the guy and ask him what he has under the hood. he says pull over. so we get out and we both pop our hoods. heres the specs on both of the cars. his first. sohc vtec cold air intake 5zigen header and full exhast and an upgraded distributor and plugs.(95civic si hatchback) my setup is as follows. 98civic hatch. 95 integra ls motor short ram intake,b&m fuel regulator, 2 1/4 inch crush bent exhaust-to a cheap muffler. i also had a passenger in the car( i dont know if this would make a difference). so we decide to go again, this time both of us know we are racing forsure........beep beep beep we both take of 1st.......dead even......2nd......dead even....3rd.....i start to pull half a car length ..........4th.........full car length.......top of fourth gear i had about a car and a half on the guy. so i beat him, but not by much, but i was stoked about it. should my car have beatin him by more ....? would having a passenger make that much of a difference. what is the weight difference between a 95hatch and a 98 hatch?.

here are the specs on both of the cars stock.

92-95 d16z6 sohc vtec 1590cc 125bhp @ 6600 106fptq @ 5200rpm

94-00 ls b18b1 1834cc 142bhp @ 6300 127fptq @5200 rpm

sounds about right.

i had some bolt ons on my coupe and i raced my friends ls hatch.

he beat me by about a car length.

but when the ls was in his teg, we were always DEAD EVEN.

 

hmm awesome. what are the weights of both of these hatches, and would me having a passenger really make that much of a difference????

um it was on the highway and there was no one around, so yeh it really wasnt street racing, cuz there wasnt anyone around for miles. i dont race around busy areas, so there

 

public roadway = street racing.

Your 2 setups are comparable. LS has a little more grunt, but you also had a passenger.

 

fair enough, but i personally enjoy racing peeps. but i rarley do it, because of the saftey issues. cheers thanks all
