Well on my way to work and I find out my R is GONE. I checked my tracking system to find out where it is and the f*cking thief managed to disable it. (Last shown location was my place).

ANYONE in the NYC area look for a black ITR with a damaged front end and flat black rims. It has PA plate 4185-166.

Update #1- Well its been reported. The theft happened between 2am and 6am. According to EZPass the tag wasn't used so I can presume it did not go to the Bronx although there are ways around that. My cue and favorite pair of boots were in there too! THE BASTARDS!!

Update #2- According to the tracking system log the last time the system was online was at 4:12am. Bastards took it when I was asleep!!!

Update #3- Checked with the Sheriff. Car was not towed. SHIEET.

That sucks man. Conclusion is can't have an R in NYC. If you want me and you can go on a hunt for our type Rs.

What tracking system were you using?

 

Mine wasn't found yet, I already started going car shopping b/c I know it probably is in pieces already. I get more upset everyday b/c nothing compares to the type R. Sorry if I'm makin you feel worse red blues but its true.

 

Yea nothing beats the R even for those few months I had her.

I think I'll end up with a RX7 at the end.

 

Yesterday in NJ, I saw a black integra LS with an ITR wing. Wonder where they got it? It psssd me off because someone tried to pry mine off after I had the car just 3 weeks. peckerheads!

 

Not trying to sound insensative here guys, so don't take it the wrong way, but this is why I say those tracking systems don't work. They are pretty easy to disable.

I made my own tracking system with an old laptop, wireless modem, and GPS. All the components were hidden except the GPS which I located right under the trunk hatch cover. If they disabled the GPS the wireless modem would still be transmitting data to my home computer. The problem was the transmission stopped altogether which means they tore apart my interior to get to the laptop/modem. Which of course pisses me off more.

 

Did the wireless modem have its own battery, or was it running off the cars battery? Its possible they just unhooked cars battery and towed it.

 

Another reason I bought a beater. My R is safe at home in her garage (I hope )

Wel, they try to hide it in a random place....but the Gen 3 integra has been around for a while so most of the places the lojack system can be hidden are well known..

How much did it cost u to make that whole setup? wireless modem? xmitting to ur home comp? it sounds like it cost a pretty penny

 

cheeseman- do u know how big the xmitter unit for lojack is? i'd tell them to put right behind my center console or something so it wold take them a while to undo the dash and get to it, and that delay would hopefully be enough to track them down..

 

WTF, You cant even enjoy having a car without having to worry about it constantly because of some ******* thieves.

Modem runs off laptop battery. Laptop runs off car power. If car power is cut it should still transmit for another four hours until the laptop battery dies.

Monthly charge for the modem is $50. Yea it's a lot. Apache server, GPS signals, etc those were $0. The whole setup cost around $1k.
