1997 ITR's How To Get Into 13.5 1/4 Mile Territory
hmm disabled your trackin system? **** I have a boomerang and the guys who installed it said I had about 2-3 days max to call in and they should find the car without any problem...
All motor, you've just got to add some decent cams and get them tuned properly, and slicks.
PatITR, I have to raise my hand and ask what the f--k you are talking about???

I think Pat was attempting to respond to the thread from the guy in NYC who just had his car stolen.
Talk to Jason Fraley with Fast as Knutz. He's in the mid 13's with a 97 R. He was running what you had below with some Spec C cams. You can find his info in my Fast as Knutz link below.

So it is not, at all, posible to get a Type R into the 13's on street tires without internal mods??? When I say 13's I mean anywhere in the 13's...13.9999...oh without cutting big *** holes in the floor boards to save weight, either.

I know a good I/H/E setup with advance timing no spare tire 1/8th tank of gas with great driver will get you into the 13's 13.9999 on street tires.
so will my allmotor. been there done that...need more. lol. best so far is 12.5 and 109mph traps. but then again...track temp was in the 120+degree range etc.
I run 13's and Kenji ran a 13.7 on street tires. intake header test pipe exhaust cam gears vafc, cams., and tuning. it can be done.

Yeah, 13.87@99.26 on slicks.
i/h/e/cam gears/underdrive pulleys/lowering springs
All motor, car weighed 2,650 with me in it.
Stock clutch, stock tranny, stock cams, 17's on the back. 13.96, 13.92, 13.88 and the time above, all on the same day.

And that was even with a midrange/no top end header - Comptech 4-2-1.
Drivers skill and good temps/track conditions are the key.

I ran that 13.7 @ 102 with a stock head and block using a '00-'01 ITR intake cam. The other mods at the time were:
JDM ITR header
Mugen head gasket
Iceman CAI
test pipe
5Zigen Border304 exhaust
Skunk2 ECU and one of my OBD2 to OBD1 ECU conversion harnesses
cam gears and tuning
This run was on Toyo T1-S (205/50-15) @ 25 psi.
It can be done relatively easily if you know how to drive and your car is tuned.
