Default Throaty engine tune

I was walking down the street when an Integra pulled up turning on a red light. A really deep throaty tune came from his engine bay when he revved. Sounded really tight. What kind of mods do you guys think he had to make his engine "gurrgle"?

As sad is it may sound...I have heard some all stock engines sound really throaty with short ram intakes...I personally have a AEMCAI and you don't here the growl until the pedal is stomped.

he could have been running straight headers? it dumps out from the front so it sounds like it's coming from the engine

no, i really doubt he was running an open header, it wouldn't sound throaty, it would sound LOUD and ANNOYING AS HELL from that close. If the car was pretty stock, it was probably a short ram intake. Personally, I hate the sound of a short ram, its just way too loud at wot.
