Default D16Y7 motor in my 93 vx hatch.. it wont stop overheating no matter what! HELP ME!

i put a 99 Y7 in my hatch, it over heats repeatedly, i have tried everything--

i hollowed out the thermostat-

i then ran a switch to the radiator fan--

i put a GSR radiator in ----

ran a switch to BOTH fans on the gsr radiator--

the car overheats like when i drive, as i give it gas the temp gauge just goes up rapidly---

lots of pressure builds up and the hose that goes to the head right next to the temp gauge plug - under the distribitor thats the one that all the steam comes out thats where the pressure is let out--

i opened the radidator cap and it seems as though the water is pumping---

i installed a Y8 in a 93 four door, he has the same problem.. im stuck... can anybody help..

please....

what I think you should do the see if the coolant is going though your engine, by touching the lower hoses. It should be a warm ( hot).

also the radial fan can blow two way. If fan is behind radial, then it should blow toward the engine. good luck

Have you even checked to see if the gauge is reading correctly? Why not hook up an aftermarket gauge to see exactaly what temperature your car is running at?

could be pump due to some days it runs fine and some not. replace pump and if it still does it pull the head and check the gasket

ok-- well its not the gauge because the water was all steaming out of one of the hoses -- so it was really hot-

i didnt notice when i put the new radiator in... that the drain thing at the bottom was loose lol---- also the hose that was steaming had a small hole in it-- like a screw driver puncture-- i cut the hose short, fit that up-- tightened the drain plug added water now the tempature stays on Cold-- all the way cold--

should i go ahead and put my thermostat back in?? or will it bother the motor to let it run cold--- it ran all good yesterday but who knows it might run crappy again today-- but i think it was the hose because it was the heater hose, i dont think any water was even getting to my lower hose-- thanks alot-- peace
