Default ITR Expo: The Photos

I just finished speaking with my dad on the phone this evening. He has developed almost all of the rolls, and we will begin the weeding and sorting process very soon. He did some work with people going by on the straightaway where the background is blurred and the car is in focus, and said that they came out really great. Additionally, there were a number of shots of people "racing" in groups.

I will be posting the link for the site just as soon as I get it up, as I know that you are all very eager to look at the product. To give you an idea of the number of photographs taken, he took nearly 100 exposures of my car alone. Granted, there was a reason to take more of me than other people, I know he burned at least 35 or 40 rolls (probably more, need to ask him) of 36 exposure film. This could take a little while. Please be patient, and feel free to email me and pester me if it will make the waiting go faster for you.

As soon as I get some samples of his work, I will put them up to whet your appetites.

- Garry

Does your dad own a photo shop? Otherwise you will have to live on the streets just getting all those rolls developed.

Can't wait to see my car in from your dad.

Drive back to Texas went well, right up until I hit an entire truck tire tread and cracked my front lip.

I wasn't on 75 yesterday, I was home playing GT3.

My dad works in a shop that allows him to do massive amounts of film processing, and so it is a bit easier and cheaper than, say, going down to a shop and having them do it for him.

I can say it will take a good amount of time to get all the photographs processed, scanned, reduced, categorized, and integrated into a web environment. The current plan will be to have photos broken down by car number, and then a misc. basket where everyone can go and identify cars where I can't see the number by their mods, or perhaps the driver's helmet, etc.
Naturally the bulk of the time will be in sorting out cars where the number is not easily recognizable or not visible.

I'll keep y'all informed.

I hope he will be posting small pics and selling the prints. I hate to see him shell out all the $$ for the film and processing, not mention work, and recoupe anything.

ITR1275:

There will be small thumbnails on the site. If someone is interested in ordering, I can provide a large image with a large image-screwing watermark on it so they can verify that the image is good and what they want. From there they will be able to order an 8x10 or a hi-res electronic copy, with the electronic copy costing less than the print. The prices will be determined once we figure out exactly what this is costing us.

Our goal isn't to make a bunch of profit, just to break even with perhaps a little left over.

No worries double-L. Had a great time talking to you on Sat.

Man, nice mod list. No wonder you kept tooling me out on the track.

- Garry, who wonders how many of the other novices were really driving a totally stock (minus JDM strut bar) car on totally stock tires out there.....

Hey Garry, I was pretty much stock except for a cai, and kumho ecsta's which perform as well as the RE10's. I think i could've done better, it's a shame i like the dirt so much

Timberwulf and zygspeed: nice meeting both of you. Unfortunately I was not at the ITR expo, but I did go on the canyon run with you all on that friday. I was the one with the white Civic coupe. btw, Garry, you were the one with the inside camera mount right?

Yup. I think I was the only one running a camera on a mount.

Definitely check the photo page when it comes up, as there WILL be photographs from the canyon runs available. Please let any friends that you had on the run with you that don't come to HT know when the site comes up so that they can take a look too.

It was very nice meeting you.

Yeah, I think my mods made me look better than I really am!

But I enjoyed being a beginner and with all the other beginners!

Sorry to hear that you cracked your lip spoiler on the way home.....SUX
