Orbital buffer question
I just bought an orbital buffer and it came with a terry cloth applicator and a wool applicator. I did read the directions BTW. What i am wondering it the terry cloth feels extremely rough. Will this scratch my paint, or should i only use this when im polishing? If sommeone would like to enlighten me on what i should use the rough applicator for and what i should use the wool applicator for it would be great.
I would say that if you have to question it, don't use it. It would be all to easy to get 0Wn3d by swirl marks using an orbital buffer.
Those things freak me out. I will stick to hand waxing.

The terry is for removing the extra wax that sticks to the car to avoid that, I'd use a wax stripper and then clay bar the car, wash off, then #26 yellow hitec wax meguars, gold class car wax, and then last green carnuba wax. (WAX in the STEPS I told you) Then your car will shine like new
i have an orbital buffer question...i just bought a cheap one out of curiosity and the thing vibrates a LOT. after about a minute of use, my hands get terribly itchy. does this apply to all orbital buffers? or is it because i got a cheap one? or am i just a pansy hehe

I wouldn't use low quality equipment on my paint. Buy a Porter Cable 7121 and call it a day. Best random orbit DA polisher on the market.
I also don't recommend the polisher for anything other than polishing and wax application. Invest in some quality microfiber towels (NOT the ones from Walmart) to remove wax haze and polishing comopunds. Terry is a recipie for scratches any way you slice it...
