will a 89/91 crx si rear sway bar fit on a 88 crx DX?
Ahh...I remember doing this a while back ago.
Since I own a 88 dx w/a crx si rear sway bar...let me walk ya through it.
What you will need:
1. si rear lower control arms
2. rear shocks with the fork type...the ones to match up with the rear lower control arms. Not the ones that look like eye kind.
3. rear sway bar and mounting brackets and bolts...etc. (duh)
It all swaps, but if you are in the same shoes as I was, the thing wouldn't bolt to the frame b/c those holes were just holes, they didn't have any threads for bolts. in other words the holes were too big for anything to be bolted to it.
So...swap the rear lowe control arms and the rear shocks, and take the sway bar stuff to some muffler/custom shop. Chain store might not do it, but take it to someone who has common sense and he/she should be able to weld the sway bar stuff to make it work out.
It may sound funny, if I said something wrong i'll edit my post tomorrow, b/c I don't feel like looking under my car in the middle of the night right now.
I'll post a blurry pic of what I did.
hopefully that helps...

Opinions are like buttholes....
...Everybody has one.
It's really not that hard of a swap to do. Yeh I might of had a 90 Si parts hatch to help me out, but any junkyard shouldn't charge too much. Just don't act like its valuable and it'll ususally be cheaper.

You don't need to get the 89-91 Si lower control arms, you can just get some 88 Si ones. That way you can retain the original shocks. Also CRX's are weird about the sway bar holes in the frame. I had a 90 CRX DX that did have the nuts welded in the frame, and also a 89 Civic HB STD that had them too. So I was able to use an Si sway bar without any problems. Just plug and play. But now my brother has a 89 CRX DX, and I have a 91 CRX HF, and neither of us have the nuts welded on the frame. I believe only Si's had them from 88-91, and also DX's from 90-91. Not sure if any of the HF's had them, and also I'm not sure about Civic hb's.
