I hear that they're different, though I can't verify this. I'm pretty sure that they are.

No, they are very different.
If you go hydro you will need a new mount. And it will have to be custom, as of right now there isn't one available.
I hear HASPOrT is coming out with a cable to hydro convertion.

Ok.
you use the driver side mount you got with the kit.
you use the rear mount you got with the kit.
you will have to open the holes in the rear engine bracket.
the cable tranny uses 17mm bolts while the hydro tranny uses 19mm bolts.
the 19mm are bigger in diameter.
then comes the custom work.
if you have Hasport billet mounts, then you have it easy.
Just separate the tranny mount. Bolt the part with the bushing on the bracket and
make a new base out of steel or hard aluminum (6061 T6 is very common),
this is easyer if the engine/tranny is in the car, that way you can get the hole spacing right. then just drill the new holes and put the mount back together.
If you have welded mounts, then cut the base out of it and make a new base for it.
I did that with a welded Hasport engine mount kit.
i used the bushing part and made a new base for it, plus I used some aluminum tubbng to make the mount sit flat, the same way Hasport made theirs.
