Default Got skunked...

I couldn't avoid the skunk that was crossing the road and I ran it over. I think it tumbled a couple of times and I ran over his tail because he was gone when I came back to check if there was road kill. I think he sprayed from the front all the way to the back of my car as he tumbled. I went straight to a car wash but that did not help. I sprayed lysol and it make the stench worse. I think I also had the vent on so the skunk spray came inside my car as well.. took me about 4 day of venting and air sprays to get most of the smell out.
Anybody know a better way to get rid of the smell? to skunks

I think if you cut open apples and leave them in there it's supposed to help.

Bowl of vinegar overnight in the car maybe?

Fabric softener sheets. Febreze.

Orange peels in the car helps. The apple thing is supposed to absorb the smell...

The odor of a Skunk is something of no comparison to anything I have evered smelled. I remember getting the right side of my car sprayed by a skunk....luckily it wasn't my new car....

Tomato paste works the best. My little brother got sprayed on a hunting trip and my stepdad made him take a bath in the stuff.
